threat of losing your job is very high..as every prediction says its going to be more bad..
i come here every hr to see any updates or news... but dont write as not sure what effect can we make..obama is more pressed with economic recovery and more immigrants are not what they want..but still i am optimistic with S9 bill intoduced

While I agree that yours is a genuine case, I must say that you are asking a wrong question. How do one know when would your recipt come out from USCIS? No one has a crystal ball dude...Think before you send out a question there.....
I understand that one cannot guess when USCIS sends out receipts. All I wanted to know was if there will be different receipts sent out for LC/140/485 and if the processing will be done simultaneously or separately.

I said it may be and so it is better to check with attorney. There is nothing wrong in checking with attorney so that he can clarify the doubts.
That is so wrong, you are linking this to the criminal database?
SO as soon as the finger printing is done, within a fraction of a second, they match your fingerprints to the criminals and even let you know that by displaying a Red sign. Cant believe a Senior member can come up with such an explanation.
Leos link has the answer, the red Not match found error is simply an error between your finger prints taken together and then done individually.
The Service rep also individually goes thru all the FPs to check if the FPs taken together match those done individually.

I have similar situation, got all my Receipts and got FP appointment. My H1 expired in 1st week of September. I would like to have H1 extended but, my employer and lawyer are saying "it is not possible now, and you will get your EAD dont worry".

Hi what kind of lawyer he is to say it is ok work after H1B expires with no EAD in hand. Technically you cannot work until you receive your EAD.
Ask your employer to see if he will do an extension if you pay for the expenses.

Hi friends,
We filed I485 in July.We got our Ead and Ap and my hubby is shifting jobs using AC 21. But we did not get any FP notice till now. In our EAD card, it just says fingerprint unavailable. We called USCIS twice but they said that they haven't yet generated any FP notice for us. Even our attorney hasn't received anything. We have to renew our EAD card in June..will there be a prb during the renewal becos of lack of FP?? Should we get an infopass appt for this..is it necessary?
Anyone in same situation pls lemme know.

Does arrest for driving with suspended license (License suspended for non payment of ticket) come under traffic violation? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Report indicates that Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Rep. Nydia Velasquez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) will meet with President Barack Obama this afternoon to talk about the chances of getting comprehensive immigration reform or the DREAM Act passed in the lame duck session, signaling the Democrats, Hispanics, and Obama turning their posture in CIR or DREAM from "defensive" to "offensive" strategy, by going forward with the all-court pressing DREAM or CIR during the Lame Duck session. For this apparent strategy, time is indeed short and running out. There was also report that the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could bring the DREAM Act to the floor as early as this week. This strategy will push and corner Republicans to the "defensive" position in connection with the 2012 Presidential and another national election. For this matter, the Democrats have nothing to lose by pushing for DREAM or CIR during this Lame Duck session while they are in a majority position. Failure to pass the DREAM Act during the Lame Duck session will be placed on the Republicans, which are likely to bring about some Republican casualties and political liabilities in 2012 election. From the perspecitives of the DREAM activists, this is indeed considered a last chance and they are taking an aggressive position to take advantage of such political strategy of the Democrats. Is "immigration" process a "Rocket" science?
When this country supports "complex" process of landing on "moon" with "efficient" high-technology that spread across Electrical, Mechanical & computational areas/divisions, why not "Immigration" process?
Look, we as "IT" guys knows that "Customer process" can be spread across different "divisons" of the organization and still we "devise" solution to implement that process by providing "homogeneous" solution...and therefore I feel that WE should not "buy" this idea of "Process" etc...
What I am saying is..If guy/gal is having EAD for more than 3-4 times, paying taxes & "have clean police record" then he/she is not threat to "security" of country and USCIS do not avail VISA# then assign a "Temporary" VISA # to such I-485 applicant who is hanging around for last 5-6 years with EAD!!
Also, when PD of China & Mexico is moving beyond April 2001 while "India" PD for last 7 months is "lingering" between April 15 & April 21, I do suspect of "Transparency". Why USCIS do not gives count# of Indians that are pending in BPCS and also NOT even "trying" to find out "How many Indians will complain" if they will pass beyond April 31, 2001?
Let USCIS pass India PD beyond April 31, 2001, let them collect the complains of Indians, compile the "statistics" and let them arrive at # Indians that are hiding behind 245(i) "Titanium" wall and then we should buy this excuse of "Process"..
Guys apart from "Political reasons", USCIS have to show some transprency for not moving "India" PD beyond April 31, 2001 to convince us...!!!

USCIS is in the Department of Homeland security. That's where I485 starts. Then comes FBI namecheck. That's US dept of Justice. After that, comes the issue of alloting visa numbers. That is US State Department.
So you have 3 big bodies of US government who have to all work at premium speed IN SYNC with each other, without passing the buck to each other, to make premium processing possible for 485 filing.
As we all know, USCIS that alone handles I140 petitions took years to implement premium I140. Now if 3 entirely different Departments of US govt were to be asked to harmoniously streamline another procedure, then I guess its wish very less likely to come true, EVEN IF they want it as much as we do.

If i were you,I will prioritize what i want ?Filing 485 or a Married Name.If you want to change your name it can be done on any day after getting the GC ,after becoming a Citizen.
Royus.. said it right. I don't think changing the last name before GC is a "must". Name can be changed at anytime after GC is done.. even if taking GC takes few years. There are millions of couple in US where husband and wife uses different last name. My wife has been the same way for last 7 years.. and never faced any issue. She got it changed last year just for grins.
